Some narratives of the modern LGBT movement paint gay men as being like straight girls who are also a sexual minority, and accepting sex as real allows us to not associate with gay men as women because we see them as men and they aren't like women. (Not literally but being feminine and bottoms makes people see gay men as being socially like straight girls.)
Ok kids, this 65 yr old Lesbian burst out laughing and had to pause your podcast at your discussion of food and sports. I am married to a Butch. We are both widows and this is my first butch/femme relationship. She came out as Butch Lesbian when she was 17. I’ve been in competitive sports since I was 5 and I still train and compete. I am stronger than my wife and have been able to bench press my weight since I was 21. However, my wife has more defined and sexy biceps! Sport requires you to be present, and to have knowledge of the body to identify the myriad of it’s responses (ex. muscle fatigue vs muscle strain vs nerve pain.) Lots of trial and error and overthinking usually leads to error and/or injury. So glad to see you both getting out of your heads. It changes perspective and yields clarity in work. Food Factoid: Most professional Ironman Triathletes are vegan. It takes a lot of work to design a diet that will yield the necessary protein for the individual athlete. The fatigue Akita experienced could have been related to a B12, iron, and/or protein deficiency.
